PAST PROJECTS

Creating new ways for people to experience and enjoy craft.
Big Craft Give-Away

The Big Craft Give-Away was a national event that happened in 2012 Year of Creative Scotland and 2013 when thousands of craft objects were made and given away as gifts to inspire people to go and see craft.   The small craft objects were created at venues across Scotland that had a craft connection by craft artists working with local communities, and were inspired by the place where they were made.  They were all given away on the Big Craft Give-Away Day at the venues, posted, or left at random for people to find.  During the two years over 8,000 objects were given away and over 4,000 people took part in making.

Flashcraft

Flashcraft was a creative collaboration between craft, film and theatre.  It is fun, surprising, beguiling and intriguing, and brought craft to arts audiences of all ages in an unexpected, entertaining and eye-catching way.  It premiered on the opening day of Pittenweem Arts Festival 2011 - which was captured on film - and a second Flashcraft performance was a highlight of goNORTH 2013 in Inverness.

Word Craft

A collection of poetry and prose written by the Scottish writing group Words on Canvas and inspired by craft objects by craft artists working in Scotland was published online for the Word Craft exhibition at Pittenween Arts Festival 2012.
